Today I came across a post on the NaturalNews Network. NaturalNews Network is a non-profit group of public education websites covering topics to help empower individuals to make positive changes in their health, environmental sensitivity, consumer choices and informed skepticism.
I always find the information on the site unbiased, well-researched and thought provoking.
Gluten-Free Processed Foods and GMOs
I brought up the connection between a gluten-free diet and GMOs in my blog post What Do GMO Foods Have to Do With An Intolerance to Gluten and Other Food Intolerances? and in a few of my other posts as well. Many people on a gluten-free diet may be eating a lot of processed foods. They may also be using a gluten-free flour substitute that is corn or soy based. Corn and soy are the top two genetically engineered crops.
If you're following a gluten-free diet and you're still not feeling well it could be because your ingesting high amounts of GMOs in your diet. And unfortunately you may experience many of the same symptoms as you did when you were eating gluten.
Recent research has been pointing to the fact that eating genetically modified foods may be having the same effect on your intestines as it does on the insects it's meant to destroy.
I have to say it really doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that this could be a strong possibility. The chances that these insecticides genetically encoded into every cell of these plants not having any affect on us just doesn't seem even slightly realistic to me.
