Chapati (also known as khakhara) are usually made from chapatti flour
(atta), which is a very finely ground whole wheat flour. Chapati is
unleavened bread which is cooked on a griddle with no oil or fat and is
similar to a tortilla. This flatbread can be used to scoop up other
foods eaten with the fingers during a meal and also goes well with
curries and other spicy dishes.
This recipe uses a combination of Celeste’s Best Gluten-Free Flour Mix along with amaranth, teff and quinoa flour. The addition of these flours helps give the chapati a mild whole wheat taste.
